Correcting the nose, for aesthetic as well as respiratory reasons, is a major intervention that will be carried out by a specialist facial surgeon, with proper experience and accreditation. An attractive nose is one which suits the proportions of your face and is in harmony with your profile. Rhinoplasty may not be undertaken before the end of adolescence. The shape of the nose and quality of the skin are taken into account; photographs are taken and analysed by the surgeon. The size and general appearance of the nose can be modified.
Duration:
Day clinic or 2 days of hospitalisation, 7 to 10 days of convalescence.
After the intervention:
The intervention is not very painful: a swelling of the nose, oedema and ecchymosis, are normal after-effects, disappearing after 10 days.
Complications:
Rhinoplasty is a delicate intervention. The nose is the central focus of the face and the facial expression can be altered. Sometimes patients have difficulties adapting psychologically to their new appearance.
Results:
No visible scars.
