Objective of the intervention:
The combination of different lifting procedures (frontal, temporal, vertical, with or without lipostructure), produces excellent results for loose tissue on facial outlines and fatty excess on the neck. Sagging or hollow cheeks can be dramatically improved. Each case is assessed in detail in order to arrive at the right combination of therapy for that individual. Total rejuvenation has a very positive impact on the patient’s psychological well-being; it reconnects the individual inside with their outward appearance. Lifting procedures restore harmony and a youthful appearance to the entire facial morphology. These procedures are gaining popularity with men as well as women. The effect is to take ten years off your appearance.
The operation:
A cervico-facial lift requires one-day’s hospitalisation. After an incision in the contour of the ear, the skin is entirely freed, together with the entire subcutaneous skin fat right down to the muscles. We begin by readjusting the different deep facial structures, then the entire muscular system is drawn towards the top and the back. Sometimes lipostructure or lipoaspiration is carried out. To conclude, the skin is stretched and the excess removed. The stitches are made close to the ear and in the hairline.
After-effects of the operation:
After the operation a decline in physical well-being is to be expected, accompanied by fatigue and swelling. Patients will need to rest quietly at home for a few days. Generally some tension behind the ears and around the neck is felt, sometimes also at the base of the scalp. These prickling and tugging sensations will rapidly ease as the days pass. Analgesics are effective in relieving these symptoms. As soon as the stitches are removed, the face relaxes and the feelings of tension disappear.
Risks:
The most frequent risks include post-operation infections reactions, oedemas and ecchymosis, or scarring problems. Certain regions of the face take quite a long time to regain all their sensitivity and elasticity. Lesions of the facial nerves can also induce a partial or complete paralysis of one of the nerves (reversible or irreversible). These cases, however, are rare.
