Wrinkles

It is not, however, always necessary to undergo a surgical lift to eliminate certain wrinkles.

The face can be effectively smoothened using a newly-developed laser. This procedure is carried out at the doctor’s surgery and is especially effective on relatively young skin.

Hyaluronic acid has been used in aesthetic surgery for a number of years. The product is naturally present in the dermis, an essential component of the skin’s structure that allows the tissues to be hydrated. With ageing, the quality of this substance degrades and entails an alteration of the dermis. The volume and hydrating effects of hyaluronic acid offer an ideal solution to wrinkles and restore natural contours to the face. The injections cause little pain. Local anaesthesia is used so that the injection into the lips remains a comfortable and anxiety-free procedure.

As these products are absorbed naturally the risks are minimal. If an undesirable reaction should, however, occur, the inconvenience is only temporary.

Hyaluronic acid has the following characteristics:

  • It is not of animal origin.
  • Normally a prior skin test is not required (although for safety reasons, the doctor may sometimes judge it advisable).
  • The molecules are not recognized as a foreign body.
  • It is suitable for men as well as women.

Hyalauronic acid can:

  • Treat major and minor wrinkles around the upper lip,
  • Remove imperfections or asymmetries
  • Mould the lips for a more sensuous look,
  • Harmonize the facial contour.

Contraindications:

Auto-immune conditions, known allergic reactions, known hypersensitivity to hyaluronic acid, tendency to develop hypertrophic scars, inflammatory problems at the injection sites.
