Progressive vascular weakness often leads to minor lesions on the face or hands which may cause concern because they seem unattractive. With flash lamp treatment or laser treatment, these blemishes will progressively become fainter. A course of one to three sessions will produce a permanent improvement. A reddened area may initially appear, or sometimes a swelling, but these reactions disappear after one or two days. After a few days, no trace of the treatment remains.
