Capillary veins

When veins become painful or conspicuous, a vein specialist will carry out a thorough examination of the deep vein system. Veins affected by the illness must then be treated, for example by stripping, or sclerotherapy. After an operation of this kind, small red and blue marks often remain. These can be treated by laser. These blemishes, known as veinectasis, also sometimes appear spontaneously as a result of a fragile vein system.

Depending on the location, importance and quality of the veins, between 3 and 6 laser sessions are required. These are given at a frequency of one session per month. The laser coagulates the small vessels by exposing them to an intense luminous pulsating ray. The effects on superficial vascular lesions are permanent.

Important:

It is important not to expose your skin to sunlight or visit a solarium before the treatment

In addition, for one week after the treatment, apply ice to the treated areas to keep them cool and apply healing cream twice a day. A small pale brown stain will form on the treated parts but this will disappear after a few days. In addition a sunblock will be applied throughout the treatment. Sometimes a temporary hyper- or hypo- pigmentation can occur on the areas treated.
